Requisite Technology, Inc. is one of the fastest growing companies in the electronic commerce industry. Requisite provides businesses with electronic cataloging technology, and content conversion and management capabilities. They offer "finding" technology and content services through enterprise software vendors to large corporations that require accessible online product information to fuel their business-to-business electronic commerce operations. Requisite's eMerge Toolset software was about to be released to customers who were converting from traditional, paper-based procurement systems to Internet-based electronic procurement. With this in mind, Requisite provided training to their customers as part of the software's roll out. The training had a dual purpose: to teach customers the technical aspects of the software, and to help them transition their companies through the process of an electronic procurement system. We designed, developed, and facilitated a customized 2-day session for Requisite customers' eCatalog Administrators. The design of the training was enhanced by a custom, fictionalized case that enabled participants to practice the steps and navigation of the software as well as prepare for on-the-job situations that would arise from the transition to an electronic procurement system. The training is being held monthly at Requisite's training site in Westminster, Colorado to customers from all over the United States.
