Tandem Training Success
Tandem training, when two trainers work at the
same time towards the same training goals, requires a highly developed team
approach. The seven steps below are mandatory if tandem training is going to be
not only successful, but also effective, some seem like common sense, but are
often surprisingly overlooked:
 |
Prepare together in order to provide effective
communication to learners and separate the agenda based on each trainer's
specific strengths and weaknesses. |
 |
Be fluent with the entire training curriculum
and content, if an emergency pops up, the other trainer can jump in
seamlessly. |
 |
Ensure each trainer is responsible and
accountable for their own preparation as well. |
 |
Learn each other's training styles and figure
out if they are complimentary and if they are opposing styles, the trainers
will need to figure out when the other is in trouble in order to help out. |
 |
Equally share the work so you serve both as
trainer and assistant. |
 |
Make every effort to preserve both trainers'
reputations by not providing contradictory information. |
 |
Remain aware of the learner's time and purpose
for attending while still trying to make the session enjoyable. |
 |
Always discuss the session in order to identify
areas that require improvement. |
