Preferred Learning Styles is an interesting discussion among trainers --- conducted as part of a needs analysis research, the preferred learning methods of the targeted participants can go a long way in helping identify the most beneficial amounts, formats, levels, and delivery methods of the learning content for that audience. But it need not be complex, some of the simplest most open-ended surveys yield tremendously useful information.

Here is a sample of one I have used regularly, which can be sent out and collected after completion, or filled out in a face-to-face meeting/interview. You have my permission for unlimited use of it, for free!

Introduction

I am helping your organization create a development course on Innovative Leadership Styles. We are now trying to identify the best way to design this training based on the profiles of the targeted audience. Your job title and description matches the profile of the audience for whom we are designing the training, in fact, you may be interested in attending the training. There are 12 questions in all, nine of them refer to your preferred learning style. I ask that you answer all nine of these as fully as possible, providing as much information and detail as necessary (use as much space as you wish for your responses) for us to gain understanding of your preferred learning style(s).

Thank you very much in advance for your support in this project!
